What is a cure notice?

A cure notice is a formal communication issued by a party to a contract to notify the other party that they are in breach of the contract and provide them with an opportunity to correct the breach within a specified period of time.

Cure notices are commonly used in construction contracts, government contracts, and other types of agreements where performance is critical. The notice typically outlines the specific nature of the breach, the corrective actions required, and the deadline by which the breach must be remedied.

If the breaching party fails to cure the breach within the specified timeframe, the non-breaching party may have the right to terminate the contract, seek damages, or take other legal actions.

It is important for parties to carefully review their contracts and follow the proper procedures when issuing or responding to a cure notice to ensure compliance with the terms of the agreement and protect their legal rights.
